Cubelets - Passive Cubelet
·
The Passive Cubelet is a basic building block. It carries power and data from its neighbors, but it basically acts like a smart brick. It doesn’t move, sense, or change the data in any way. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots. You c...
Cubelets - Speaker Cubelet
·
The Speaker Cubelet contains a small speaker and an amplifier that will chirp according to the block’s data value. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots. You can build robots that drive around on a tabletop, respond to light, sound, and ...
Cubelets - Distance Cubelet
·
The Distance Cubelet detects how far it is from an object. It uses infrared light and is accurate between 10 and 80 cm. The sensor is directional, so outputs the distance to the object in front of the sensor. At 10cm, the block will output values near 1, and toward 80cm it will output value...
Cubelets - Temperature Cubelet
The Temperature Cubelet contains a tiny thermometer (actually, a thermistor) that detects temperature. It’s calibrated to output a 0 in freezing conditions and 255 in hot, sunny conditions of about 35C.Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots....
Cubelets - Knob Cubelet
·
The Knob Cubelet has a potentiometer embedded in one of its faces. It outputs a 0 when turned fully counterclockwise, and a 1 when turned clockwise. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots. You can build robots that drive around on a ta...
Cubelets - Brightness Cubelet
The Brightness Cubelet has an analog photocell that responds to varying light conditions and detects the amount of light hitting it’s sensor. Expect values near zero in a dark room, and values near one when the sensor is in front of a bright light. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be s...
Cubelets - Maximum Cubelet
·
The Maximum Cubelet is a "Think" block in the Cubelets robot construction system. It accepts multiple input values and passes along only the greatest one, acting as a filter for sensor data. Use it to build robots that respond only when a sensor exceeds a threshold — for example, pairing it with ...
Cubelets - Inverse Cubelet
·
The Inverse Cubelet is a "think" block in the Cubelets modular robotics system. It calculates the opposite of the values it receives — averaging its inputs and outputting one minus that average. Use it to create robots with inverted behaviours, like driving faster in the dark or slowing down in b...
Cubelets - Battery Cubelet
·
The Battery Cubelet provides energy to power a construction. It contains two rechargeable batteries and a small power switch. The batteries are removed from the Cubelet for charging, so if you keep a few batteries around, you won’t need to stop what you’re doing to wait for batteries to ...
Cubelets - Drive Cubelet
·
The Drive Cubelet is an action block in the Cubelets robot construction system. It contains a motor and roller wheels that move along a horizontal surface — higher input values drive it faster, while a value of zero brings it to a stop. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that snap together to create r...
Cubelets - Flashlight Cubelet
·
The Flashlight Cubelet is an action block for the Cubelets modular robotics system. It emits a focused beam of white light from a powerful LED, with brightness proportional to its input value — high input means bright light, zero input means off. Cubelets are magnetic building blocks that snap t...
Cubelets - Rotate Cubelet
·
The Rotate Cubelet is an action block in the Cubelets modular robotics system. One face spins at a rate determined by the block's input values, allowing it to act as a motor output in snap-together robot constructions. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that snap together to create robots with emergen...
Cubelets - Bluetooth Cubelet
The Bluetooth Cubelet contains a tiny Bluetooth radio that you can pair with your Android device or PC. With the Cubelets Control app running on your Android device, you can override Action Cubelets and remote control your robot. Drive it around on the floor like a radio control car or turn the F...
Cubelets - Blocker Cubelet
·
The Blocker Cubelet is a basic building block that “blocks” data from its neighbors. It still passes power, but effectively stops communication and can insulate one side of a robot from another.Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots. You can...
Cubelets - Bar Graph Cubelet
This cubelet displays the block’s value as a light-up bar graph. The value is normalized to the number of points on the bar graph so that a maximum value results in a fully-lit bar graph. Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots. You ...
