The Yahboom 4WD Smart Robot is a fully featured Arduino-based robotics kit built around the Arduino UNO R3 controller. The aluminium alloy chassis with four-wheel drive and metal motor brackets provides a sturdy platform for learning robotics, sensor integration, and programming.
Most components connect via screws and standoffs with anti-reverse sockets — no soldering required. The BST-4WD multi-function expansion board provides interfaces for sensors, communication modules, and additional expansion. Programming is supported through Arduino IDE (C/C++) and Mixly (graphical), with control via infrared remote or Bluetooth app (Android/iOS).
Key Features
- Arduino UNO R3 Controller – Standard Arduino-compatible core
- Aluminium Alloy Chassis – Durable 4WD platform with metal motor brackets
- BST-4WD Expansion Board – Sensor and module interfaces; compatible with Arduino UNO and Raspberry Pi
- No Soldering Required – Screw and standoff assembly with anti-reverse connectors
- Multiple Control Modes – Infrared remote and Bluetooth app (Android/iOS)
- Dual Programming – Arduino IDE (C/C++) and Mixly graphical programming
- Expansion Holes – Chassis mounting points for custom additions

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- IDE
- Short for Integrated Development Environment, a program used to write, run and manage code. It matters because some learners prefer a traditional coding workspace instead of a guided notebook-style lesson.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
