Make U.FL connector handling a little less nerve-racking with this compact extraction jig. It is designed to help connect and withdraw tiny U.FL connectors from a seated position, reducing the chance of tearing a surface-mount connector off your board.
The L-shaped bending portion hooks onto the connector cap, letting you apply stable pressure while working with the connector. It is specifically intended for U.FL-LP-040 and U.FL-LP-066 connectors.
This product includes the tool only. U.FL cables, breakout boards and mating connectors, such as those found on a NEO-M8U breakout, are not included and need to be purchased separately.
Specifications:
- Compatible connectors: U.FL-LP-040 and U.FL-LP-066
- Use: Connecting and withdrawing U.FL connectors from a seated position
- Tool shape: L-shaped bending portion hooks on the connector cap
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout is a small circuit board that makes a tiny or hard-to-solder component easier to connect to with standard pins. It matters because this OLED module can be wired into a microcontroller project without needing to solder directly to the display’s fine contacts.
- u.FL
- u.FL is a tiny snap-on antenna connector often used on compact wireless boards. A board with u.FL usually needs an external antenna, which matters if the product will be inside an enclosure or needs better antenna placement.
