The TV-B-Gone is a soldering kit that, once assembled, can turn off virtually any television within a 45 m (150 ft) range. It cycles through 230 power codes — 115 for American/Asian TVs and 115 for European models — so it works with everything from vintage CRTs to the latest flat-screen and plasma displays.
Assembly requires basic soldering and takes about an hour, making it an excellent beginner project. During assembly you select either the American/Asian or European code set to match your region.
