The Teensy 3.x Feather Adapter rearranges the pins of a Teensy 3.x board to match the Adafruit Feather form factor and pinout. This allows the Teensy to work with the full range of FeatherWing add-ons — motor drivers, GPS modules, LED matrices, OLEDs, and more.
The adapter also includes a built-in 500 mA LiPo charger that charges automatically over USB and switches to battery power when USB is disconnected. A 100 kΩ resistor divider on pin A7 enables battery voltage monitoring.
Key Features
- Feather Form Factor – Adapts Teensy 3.x pinout to match Feather/FeatherWing ecosystem
- Built-In LiPo Charger – 500 mA charging via USB with automatic switchover
- Battery Monitoring – 100 kΩ voltage divider on A7
- FeatherWing Compatible – Drop-in support for FeatherWing add-ons
Package Contents
- 1× Assembled Teensy 3.x Feather Adapter
- 1× Shorty header set (for attaching Teensy 3.x)
- 1× Standard header set
- 1× Stacking header set
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- FeatherWing
- A FeatherWing is an add-on board made to plug into the Feather microcontroller board layout. Knowing a product is a FeatherWing helps you check whether it will physically and electrically fit your Feather-style mainboard.
- GPS
- The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
- Headers
- Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
- LiPo
- A lithium polymer rechargeable battery commonly used in portable electronics projects. It matters because LiPo batteries need correct charging circuitry and care, and this board includes hardware intended for that battery type.
