The Taoglas Steedan MA350 is a low-profile 5-in-1 combination antenna designed for vehicle roofs, outdoor buildings and heavy equipment where drilling through a roof or metal panel is not feasible. Its magnetic base mounts to steel surfaces using ultra-strong neodymium magnets, while a soft foam cushion helps protect the mounting surface during installation and removal.

The robust ABS enclosure and base are IP65 rated, making the antenna suitable for exposed installations. At just 48mm high, it sits discreetly on the target application.

Inside are five isolated antennas supporting MIMO 5G/4G, Wi-Fi 6 at 2.4/5.8/7.125GHz, and a custom-tuned GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou patch antenna for GNSS location services. The cellular antennas also provide backwards compatibility with most worldwide 3G and 2G bands.

Typical applications include next-generation OEM automotive connectivity, multimedia, navigation and telematics systems, V2V, V2X and fleet management applications, and First Net responder routers.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

5G
A mobile network standard used for high-speed wireless data links. If a project uses a 5G gateway, its power system must be able to supply enough current reliably for outdoor or remote operation.
GLONASS
Russia’s satellite navigation system. A receiver that can also use GLONASS has more satellites to choose from, which can improve positioning reliability when the sky view is partly blocked.
GNSS
GNSS stands for Global Navigation Satellite System, covering positioning systems such as GPS and similar satellite networks. It matters here because high-precision GNSS modules can output lots of serial position data that this product can send wirelessly to a computer or phone.
GPS
The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
ground plane
A ground plane is a large area of copper on a circuit board connected to ground. It helps provide a stable return path for signals and is especially important for reducing noise in high-speed connections.
SMA
A threaded coaxial connector commonly used for antennas. It matters because you need antennas with matching SMA connectors, or suitable adapters, for the LTE and GNSS antenna ports.
Wi-Fi 6
A newer Wi-Fi standard that can improve speed, range, and efficiency compared with older Wi-Fi versions. It matters for projects that need reliable wireless networking, especially where many devices share the same network.
