This extra-tall, extra-long 2x20 female stacking header lets you add multiple plates, breakouts and other boards to a Raspberry Pi with a 40-pin GPIO header.
The female header section is made taller to help an attached PCB clear the Raspberry Pi Ethernet and USB jacks. The stacking pins are also extended, leaving enough pin length available after a standard PCB is fitted.
You’ll receive one header per order. It is suitable for Raspberry Pi Model A+, Model B+, Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 boards.
Specifications:
- Header type: 2x20 female stacking header
- Female header height: 23mm
- Stacky pin length: 10mm
- Standard PCB thickness: 1.5mm
- Remaining pin length with standard 1.5mm PCB installed: 8.5mm
- Quantity per order: One header
- Compatible models: Raspberry Pi Model A+, Raspberry Pi Model B+, Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- GPIO
- General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
