The SparkFun MicroMod Single Pair Ethernet Function Board brings 10BASE-T1L two-wire Ethernet to the MicroMod ecosystem using the Analog Devices ADIN1110 transceiver. It enables long-range, 10Mbps full-duplex Ethernet communication over a single twisted pair with cable reaches up to 1.7km.
The ADIN1110 is an ultra-low power transceiver with an integrated MAC that connects to the host processor via SPI. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3cg-2019 standard, 10BASE-T1L is designed for industrial installations and field instruments where reduced cable weight and long-distance connectivity are essential.
Key Features
- 10BASE-T1L Ethernet – Single twisted pair, up to 10Mbps full duplex

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- full-duplex
- Full-duplex means data can be sent and received at the same time. It matters for interactive serial links where commands and responses may need to travel in both directions without taking turns.
- M.2
- A compact edge-connector format commonly used to plug small modules into a carrier board without soldering. On this product it is the physical connector used by the MicroMod system, so compatibility with the matching processor board is important.
- MicroMod
- A modular board system where a small processor board plugs into a separate carrier board that provides connectors, power, and peripherals. It matters because this carrier board needs a compatible MicroMod processor board before it can run your project code.
- SPI
- A fast serial communication bus often used for displays, memory cards, and sensors. It matters because SPI devices need specific pins for clock and data, plus a separate chip-select line for each device.
