A ZIF (zero insertion force) socket for wide-body SOIC-8 (200mil) chips. Flip open the latch, insert your chip, and close it to secure the IC against gold contact fingers. The bottom footprint matches the standard SOIC-8 wide-body pad layout, so it can be soldered directly onto an existing PCB.
Designed primarily for flash chips and other wide-body SOIC/SOP 8-pin ICs. Makes it easy to swap and test chips without soldering and desoldering.
Key Features
- ZIF Latch – Flip-open mechanism for easy chip insertion and removal
- Gold Contact Fingers – Reliable, low-resistance connection to chip pins
- Standard Footprint – Solders onto any wide-body SOIC-8 (200mil) PCB pad layout
- Wide-Body Only – Fits 200mil wide SOIC/SOP 8-pin chips
Ideal For
- Flash chip programming and testing
- Prototyping with swappable SOIC-8 ICs
- Production testing and chip evaluation
