This compact RF adapter has standard-polarity male SMA connectors on both ends, making it useful when you need to change a female SMA connection into a male one.
It can be screwed onto the female end of an SMA female-to-male interface cable to make a short SMA male-to-male cable assembly.
It is particularly handy for RF and GNSS setups, such as connecting a GNSS splitter to two GNSS boards where male SMA connections are required.
Features:
- SMA Male (standard polarity) to SMA Male (standard polarity)
Specifications:
- Connection: SMA Male (standard polarity) to SMA Male (standard polarity)
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- GNSS
- GNSS stands for Global Navigation Satellite System, covering positioning systems such as GPS and similar satellite networks. It matters here because high-precision GNSS modules can output lots of serial position data that this product can send wirelessly to a computer or phone.
- male-to-male
- A male-to-male cable has plug-style connectors on both ends rather than a socket on one end. This matters when choosing a cable because it must match the female sockets on the modules or boards you want to connect.
- RF
- RF means radio frequency, referring to signals used for wireless communication and other high-frequency electronics. A low-noise, stable power supply is important for RF circuits because power noise can affect signal quality and measurements.
- SMA
- A threaded coaxial connector commonly used for antennas. It matters because you need antennas with matching SMA connectors, or suitable adapters, for the LTE and GNSS antenna ports.
