Add a bright, bendy line of green light to miniatures, props, dioramas and wearable projects with this flexible LED filament. These “nOOds” are made from many tiny LED diodes bonded to an ultra-flexible metal backing and coated in colourful silicone for protection.

They’re commonly used for Edison-style decorative lighting effects, shaped into curves, hearts, stars or wound around small builds. Unlike classic nOOds, this single-ended version has both contacts at one end, making it easier to route wiring in tight spaces.

Electrically, treat it like one long LED. It can be PWM dimmed easily, and Adafruit recommends using current limiting rather than driving it directly in voltage mode. The anode is the metal end with a little hole in it; if it does not light straight away, reverse the connection.

Specifications:

  • Colour: Green
  • Length: 128mm
  • Voltage: 3V
  • Maximum current when powered directly from 3V: Up to 200mA
  • Recommended maximum current: 50mA
  • Forward current (If): 50mA
  • Forward voltage (Vf): 3V
  • Contacts: Both contacts at one end
  • Anode indicator: Metal end with a little hole in it
  • Pack contents: One per pack

Great for miniature neon-style accents where EL wire would be too bulky or hard to dim.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
PWM
Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
