Blinded by the light? Tell "The Boss" not to worry, especially with this ultra thin Side Light NeoPixel LED PCB Bar! Fancy side light LED strips are a great alternative for folks who have loved and used Adafruit NeoPixel strips for a few years but want gorgeous, glowy light emitting at 120 degrees.
We already have flexible LEDs, so these bars are more on the rigid/firm spectrum of LED strips. They're made on a single long FR4 PCB, so they've got some mechanical stability, you can run them along a thin edge. They look fantastic as accent lighting, back lighting, edge lighting, etc! Note that the FR4 is rigid but requires support so it doesn't droop and crack. It's not intended to be bent or curved at all, and if you do so you may crack the copper traces.
This LED Bar is half a meter long (50cm / ~19.5") with 120 LED/meter pitch, and features 60 addressable NeoPixel LEDs. You can use any 'NeoPixel' compatible library or microcontroller to drive these LEDs just like you expect.
These bars come with a 3-pin JST SM connector on both ends, you can remove these easily with a soldering iron. For the power wires, you will probably want a 2.1mm DC jack to wire in, so you can connect one of our 5V wall adapters to power it.

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
- microcontroller
- A microcontroller is a small computer on a single chip that runs a stored program and controls connected inputs and outputs such as buttons, sensors, displays and communication interfaces. In a device built around one, it is the part that executes the code and coordinates the device's behaviour.
- NeoPixel
- A type of addressable LED system where colour data is sent along a single digital data line from one LED or controller to the next. Compatibility matters because the timing and signal format must match for the lights or driver board to respond correctly.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
