An adapter cable that connects an RP-SMA antenna to RF modules with a w.FL (MHF3 / IPEX3) connector. Essential for adding external antennas to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other RF boards that use the tiny w.FL port — such as the Adafruit Feather ESP32 V2.

The cable is just over 20 cm (7.8″) long, with a panel-mount RP-SMA plug on one end and a w.FL / MHF3 / IPEX3 connector on the other. The panel-mount design lets you route the antenna connector through an enclosure wall for a clean installation.

Key Features

  • RP-SMA to w.FL Adapter – Bridges standard antennas to miniature RF connectors
  • MHF3 / IPEX3 / w.FL Connector – Fits modules with w.FL antenna ports (not uFL)
  • Panel-Mount RP-SMA – Mounts through enclosure panels for external antenna access
  • 20 cm Cable Length – Flexible routing inside project enclosures

Specifications

  • Connectors – RP-SMA plug (panel-mount) to w.FL / MHF3 / IPEX3
  • Cable Length – ~20 cm (7.8″), excluding connectors

Ideal For

  • Adding external Wi-Fi antennas to ESP32 and other RF modules
  • Panel-mounting antenna connections on project enclosures
  • Extending antenna placement for better signal reception
Warning: This cable has an RP-SMA connector, commonly used for Wi-Fi routers and antennas. GPS and cellular antennas typically use SMA. These two connector types are not interchangeable — check your antenna before ordering.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

ESP32
ESP32 is a family of microcontroller modules with built-in wireless features such as Bluetooth and WiFi. Knowing this product uses an ESP32-based module helps explain how it provides wireless serial communication and firmware update features.
GPS
The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
RF
RF means radio frequency, referring to signals used for wireless communication and other high-frequency electronics. A low-noise, stable power supply is important for RF circuits because power noise can affect signal quality and measurements.
SMA
A threaded coaxial connector commonly used for antennas. It matters because you need antennas with matching SMA connectors, or suitable adapters, for the LTE and GNSS antenna ports.
w.FL
A very small radio-frequency antenna connector used on compact wireless boards. It matters because you need a matching w.FL antenna or adapter before the board can use an external antenna.
