This handheld tool configures REV Smart Robot Servos (SRS) and tests standard RC servos without needing a separate controller. It is built for quick setup at the bench, in the workshop or in a competition toolkit.

For SRS units, it gives direct access to operating modes such as continuous rotation, custom angular limits and factory reset. For standard RC servos, the integrated knob lets you sweep through the servo pulse range to validate operation or find mechanical limits.

The programmer is powered by four AA batteries and uses clear LED feedback during programming. REV documentation covers the SRS Programmer overview and switching operating modes.

Features:

  • Continuous Rotation: Convert your servo into a geared motor for driving wheels.
  • Custom Angular Limits: Define a specific range of motion for precise, repeatable movements.
  • Factory Reset: Quickly revert a servo to its original settings.
  • Automatic sweep: Test modes include automatic sweep.
  • Manual control: Test modes include manual position/direction control.
  • LED indicators: LED indicators provide feedback during programming.
  • Servo tester: Acts as a servo tester for any standard RC servo in addition to programming SRS units.

Specifications:

  • Pulse output range: 550 µs to 2450 µs
  • Centre pulse: 1500 µs
  • Output logic level: 3.3 V
  • Drive voltage for servo output: 6 V nominal
  • Dimensions: 70.5 mm × 64.5 mm × 35.5 mm
  • Power source: 4 × AA batteries (not included)

A handy addition for robotics teams and makers working with REV Smart Robot Servos or checking the behaviour of standard RC servos.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
servo
A servo is a motor with built-in position control, usually told to move to a specific angle by a control signal. It matters when you need repeatable movement, such as steering, arms, flaps, or linkages, rather than continuous spinning.
