This 220 Ohm through-hole resistor is a handy general-purpose component for breadboards, perf boards and other prototype builds.
It is a 1/4 Watt PTH axial resistor with ±5% tolerance, made with carbon film construction. The leads are a more breadboard-friendly thickness than the previous version, making it easier to use in solderless breadboards.
Each resistor is sold as a single unit, so you can order exactly the quantity you need for current limiting, pull-ups, pull-downs and everyday electronics work.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Axial
- Axial components have one lead coming out of each end, so they lie flat or span holes on a circuit board or breadboard. This matters when checking whether the resistor will physically fit your prototyping or through-board assembly method.
- PTH
- Plated through-hole means the pin holes are metal-lined so solder connects the pad on both sides of the board. It is useful for connectors and headers that need a strong mechanical and electrical connection.
- Tolerance
- Tolerance tells you how far the real resistance value may be from the printed value. A 1% resistor is useful when a circuit needs more predictable behaviour than a looser 5% or 10% part.
- UPS
- An uninterruptible power supply is a battery-backed power system that keeps a device running when external power is unplugged or fails. For an embedded computer, it helps prevent sudden shutdowns that can corrupt files or interrupt a project.
