This is a single through-hole resistor for general electronics work, prototyping and repairs. It is well suited to breadboards and perf boards, with SparkFun noting a newer, more breadboard-friendly lead thickness than their previous version.
Use it anywhere you need a simple fixed resistor in a through-hole package, such as pull-ups, current limiting, biasing, sensor interfacing or voltage divider circuits.
The supplier documentation includes a datasheet and learning resources covering breadboards, sensor interfacing and voltage dividers.
Features:
- Through-hole format: Commonly used in breadboards and perf boards.
- Breadboard-friendly leads: Lead thickness has been updated to be a bit thicker than the previous version.
- Sold as singles: Supplied as one resistor.
- Coating: Flame Retardant Coating

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Tolerance
- Tolerance tells you how far the real resistance value may be from the printed value. A 1% resistor is useful when a circuit needs more predictable behaviour than a looser 5% or 10% part.
- UPS
- An uninterruptible power supply is a battery-backed power system that keeps a device running when external power is unplugged or fails. For an embedded computer, it helps prevent sudden shutdowns that can corrupt files or interrupt a project.
