This PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Heating Element is a self-regulating thermostatic ceramic heater that automatically maintains a constant surface temperature without external temperature controllers or sensors. Simply apply power and the element heats to its target temperature, then self-regulates to hold it steady.

The aluminium-tube encapsulation provides an insulated, constant-temperature surface with high heat transfer. It works on both AC and DC power regardless of polarity, making it versatile for a wide range of low-voltage heating applications.

Key Features

  • Self-Regulating – Maintains constant temperature without external feedback circuitry
  • AC or DC Operation – Polarity independent, works with either power type
  • Aluminium Tube Encapsulation – Insulated surface with high heat transfer rate
  • High-Temperature Silicone Wire – Durable leads rated for elevated temperatures
  • Built-In PTC Chip – Designed for continuous, long-term operation
  • Auto Power Adjustment – Draws more power when heat dissipation is higher, less as it reaches equilibrium

Specifications

  • Rated Voltage – DC/AC 5 V
  • Power – 2–3 W
  • Surface Temperature – 40–60 °C (measured at 25 °C ambient)
  • Dimensions – 25 × 20 × 5 mm

Ideal For

  • Instrument preheating and anti-freeze protection
  • Solenoid valve freeze prevention
  • Circuit board and enclosure dehumidification
  • Small incubators and hand warmers
  • Unattended equipment requiring constant low-level heat
Warning: Do not use near flammable or explosive materials. Do not immerse in water. Do not subject to impact or punching. When using multiple elements together, connect them in parallel (not stacked/overlapping). The power supply must be rated above the element's maximum dissipated power for proper operation.
Note: After power-on, heating power ramps up then settles to a stable level that depends on heat dissipation conditions. Faster heat dissipation results in higher stable power draw. The marked power is the maximum — actual operating power will be lower. Reducing supply voltage increases warm-up time and lowers power, but the final surface temperature remains essentially constant.
