The LM258P is an easy-to-use dual-channel operational amplifier for breadboard-friendly and through-hole electronics projects. It is suited to common op-amp circuits such as transducer amplifiers, DC gain blocks and general analogue signal conditioning.
This IC gives you two individual op-amps in a single 8-pin DIP package, making it a handy choice when you need dual amplifier stages from a single power supply.
With a 3-32VDC supply span and through-hole mounting, it is a practical standard op-amp for prototyping, repairs and educational builds. A datasheet is available for circuit design and pinout reference.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Op-amp
- An op-amp, or operational amplifier, is a chip used to amplify, buffer, or compare analogue signals. Resistor values around an op-amp help set gain and input behaviour, so choosing the right resistance matters for stable circuit performance.
