This latching pushbutton toggle switch provides a simple push on / push off action — press once to turn on, press again to turn off. It delivers a satisfying tactile click and can reliably handle up to 500 mA at up to 50 V, making it well suited as a power switch or mode toggle for electronics projects.

The switch is breadboard-friendly, though the leads are not on a perfect 2.54 mm (0.1″) grid. A slight bend of the leads allows it to snap into a solderless breadboard or perfboard without difficulty.

Key Features

  • Latching Action – Push on / push off toggle operation
  • Tactile Click – Clear, satisfying feedback on each press
  • 500 mA / 50 V Rating – Suitable for low-power switching applications
  • Breadboard CompatibleThrough-hole leads fit breadboards and perfboard with minor adjustment

Specifications

  • Switch Type – Latching pushbutton (toggle)
  • Maximum Current – 500 mA
  • Maximum Voltage – 50 V
  • Mount Style – Through-hole

Ideal For

  • Power on/off switching for projects
  • Mode selection toggles
  • Breadboard and perfboard prototyping

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

solderless breadboard
A reusable board with connected holes for building temporary circuits without soldering. It matters in beginner kits because students can change wiring quickly and safely while learning how components connect.
through-hole
A mounting style where the component leads pass through holes in a circuit board and are soldered on the other side. Through-hole parts are often easier to handle and solder by hand, which is useful for classroom and hobby projects.
