This compact MI:pro case protects a BBC micro:bit while keeping it portable and easy to build into projects. It is designed for both the original micro:bit V1 and the micro:bit V2, with a clear three-layer construction that helps prevent accidental shorts on the pads on the back of the board.
The case keeps access open to the buttons, ports and bottom edge pins, so the micro:bit can still be plugged into compatible edge connector carrier boards. It also includes side mounting tabs so the assembled micro:bit can be fixed to a surface for more permanent installations.
Assembly is simple with a small flathead screwdriver: layer the plates around the micro:bit and fasten them with the included nylon screws and nuts. Included parts are 4x M3 Cheese Head Nylon Machine Screw, 1x Front Plate, 4x M3 Nylon Full Nut, 1x Back Mounting Plate and 2x Mid-layer Plate.
Please note: this case does not include a micro:bit, power source or mounting screws. It is not compatible with the SparkFun gamer:bit, as that board’s edge connector is located in the centre of the board.
Features:
- Provides excellent protection to the BBC micro:bit whilst allowing access to the bottom pins.
- Full access to the A and B buttons on the BBC micro:bit.
- The mounting points allow you to fix the micro:bit to a surface for sturdy and more permanent installations.
- Full access to pins and connections including the micro USB connector.
- Clear case material shows the on-board LEDs in perfect clarity.
- The case is compatible with versions 1 and 2 of the micro:bit.
Specifications:

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- edge pins
- Edge pins are exposed electrical contacts along the edge of a board that let you connect to power, signals, and accessories. They matter because they make it easier to attach clips, expansion boards, or external components without soldering.
