The Macchina OBD-II 3-Way Breakout Board simplifies OBD2 device development by splitting a single OBD2 port into three accessible connectors with flexible signal routing. Junction blocks let you reroute individual OBD2 pins between connectors using jumper wires — useful for sniffing traffic, man-in-the-middle testing, or emulating an OBD2 port on the bench.
An external 12 V power input supports desktop development without a vehicle, or you can draw power from the vehicle via an OBD2 extension cable.
Key Features
- 3-Way OBD2 Breakout – 1× male input connector, 2× female output connectors
- Junction Blocks – Fully configurable signal routing between all connectors
- 12 V Power Input – External adapter for bench-top development
- Power Jumpers – Independent power control to each output connector
- CAN Termination – 2 sets of termination resistors included
- Power Indicator – Green LED shows when power is active
Specifications
- Input: 1× OBD2 connector (male pins)

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- CAN bus
- CAN bus is a reliable two-wire communication network originally designed for vehicles and now common in machinery and robotics. It matters when you need multiple controllers or devices to share status and control messages in a noisy electrical environment.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
