A long-range, low-data-rate radio modem pair based on the Semtech SX1276 LoRa transceiver. Operating on the 433 MHz ISM band, these modules deliver robust wireless links with excellent sensitivity and low power consumption — ideal for remote sensing and IoT applications.

The modules support two operating modes: Standard mode for transparent serial data passthrough, and Star network mode where one module acts as a central node communicating bidirectionally with multiple node modules. Configuration is done via TTL serial commands.

Key Features

  • LoRa Spread Spectrum – Long-range communication on the 433 MHz ISM band
  • −148 dBm Receive Sensitivity – Excellent range in noisy environments
  • ≤20 dBm Output Power – Up to 100 mW transmit power
  • Ultra-Low Sleep Current – ≤3.9 µA for battery-powered deployments
  • Dual Operating Modes – Transparent serial modem or star network topology
  • Serial Wake-Up & Wireless Wake-Up – Flexible power management
  • Wide Voltage Range – 2.1–3.6 V (battery) or 4.5–5.5 V
  • TTL Serial Interface – 1,200–57,600 bps (default 9,600)
  • Operating Temperature – −40°C to +80°C
  • Dimensions – 34.2 × 18.4 mm

Ideal For

  • Long-range wireless sensor networks
  • IoT and remote monitoring projects
  • Point-to-point serial data links
  • Star network topologies with a central hub
Note: These modules use a proprietary star network protocol and are not compatible with LoRaWAN. A USB-to-TTL converter is recommended for configuring module parameters.

Package Contents

  • 2× LoRa Radio Module – 433 MHz
  • 2× 433 MHz Antenna (SMA-Male connector)

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

IoT
Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
LoRa
LoRa is a long-range, low-power radio technology often used for telemetry and remote sensors. It matters here because the connector and pinout are compatible with some LoRa telemetry products, even though this module uses Bluetooth instead.
LoRa Spread Spectrum
A radio modulation method used by LoRa to send small amounts of data over long distances with good noise tolerance. It matters for this kit because RTK correction data must travel reliably from the base station to the mobile unit.
SMA
A threaded coaxial connector commonly used for antennas. It matters because you need antennas with matching SMA connectors, or suitable adapters, for the LTE and GNSS antenna ports.
TTL serial
A simple serial data connection that uses microcontroller logic-level signals rather than computer RS-232 voltage levels. It matters because the camera can connect directly to many microcontroller pins or a USB-to-TTL serial adapter, but not safely to an old-style RS-232 port without conversion.
