An analogue light sensor on a Hummingbird lead: the brighter the light falling on it, the higher the signal voltage your program reads.
Useful for nightlights that switch themselves on, sun-tracking models and any project where the robot should notice a shadow. It screws into a sensor port on the Hummingbird controller — this is a Hummingbird part, not a general-purpose breakout board. Works with the Hummingbird Bit and the Hummingbird Duo.

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
