A BBC micro:bit is required and is not supplied with this kit. The Hummingbird Bit controller runs on a micro:bit, so add one to your order — we stock them separately.

The Hummingbird Bit Premium Kit is a box of lights, sensors and motors that students bolt onto whatever they can find: cardboard, timber, 3D prints, plastic bricks. The robot is whatever the class builds; the kit is the electronics that bring it to life. The same set of parts can animate a poem one term, model a human arm the next, and become an autonomous rover or a pinball machine after that.
