A WiFi-controlled relay module based on the AI-Thinker ESP-01S (ESP8266). It lets you switch AC or DC loads remotely over WiFi, making it a simple building block for smart home automation, IoT switching, and remote control projects.

The module comes pre-loaded with demo firmware — supply 5V DC power and you can start controlling the relay straight away. The ESP-01S supports custom firmware via Arduino IDE or Lua for more advanced applications.

Key Features

  • WiFi Control – Switch loads remotely via ESP8266 WiFi
  • Pre-Loaded Demo Firmware – Ready to use out of the box
  • High-Current Relay – Rated for 10A at 250V AC or 10A at 30V DC
  • Long Range – Up to 400 m WiFi transmission in open environments
  • Compact Design – 37 × 25 mm board size
  • Programmable – Supports Arduino IDE and Lua firmware development

Specifications

  • Operating Voltage – 5V DC
  • WiFi Module – ESP-01S (ESP8266)
  • Relay Rating – 10A / 250V AC, 10A / 30V DC
  • Relay Lifespan – 100,000 cycles
  • Dimensions – 37 × 25 mm
Warning: This module can switch mains voltage (up to 250V AC). Exercise extreme caution when working with high-voltage circuits. Ensure all connections are properly insulated and follow local electrical safety regulations.

Ideal For

  • Smart home automation and remote switching
  • IoT control projects
  • WiFi-controlled lighting and appliances
  • Prototyping wireless relay circuits

Package Contents

  • 1× ESP8266 ESP-01S Relay Module (with ESP-01S pre-installed)

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

IDE
Short for Integrated Development Environment, a program used to write, run and manage code. It matters because some learners prefer a traditional coding workspace instead of a guided notebook-style lesson.
IoT
Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
