The ESP32-WROOM-DA, which is a module that achieves high-quality, wireless connectivity across large areas, using two complementary PCB antennas in different directions. Also, based on its industry-leading technical specifications, the co-existence of WiFi and Bluetooth® (Classic & Low-Energy) connectivity, and its low-power consumption modes, the users of ESP32-WROOM-DA will be able to bring to life a wide range of complex IoT application scenarios.
The module features the ESP32-D0WD-V3 chip based on an Xtensa® 32-bit LX6 dual-core processor with a maximum frequency of 240 MHz, along with 520 KB of SRAM and 448 KB of ROM. While being used, the module works according to signal strength, selecting the strongest signal to ensure continuous communication. When a weak signal is detected, the module continues to work with an API call that helps it switch to the other antenna with a stronger signal.
The module is pin compatible with the ESP32-WROOM-32E.
Features:
- 2.4 GHz WiFi + Bluetooth ® + Bluetooth LE module
- 802.11b/g/n WiFi
- Bluetooth V4.2 BR/EDR and Bluetooth LE specification
- Xtensa® dualcore 32bit LX6 microprocessor
- 8MB flash
- 40 MHz crystal oscillator
- 24 GPIOs
- On-Board dual PCB Trace Antennas
- 3.0 ~ 3.6 VDC Operating Voltage
- Pin Compatible with the ESP32-WROOM-32E

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- API
- An API (application programming interface) is a defined set of commands or functions that lets one piece of software interact with another, such as a library, operating system, hardware driver or online service. When something offers API support, it means you can control or query it from your own code rather than only through its built-in menus or buttons.
- ESP32
- ESP32 is a family of low-cost microcontroller chips and modules from Espressif with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. They support programmable firmware and over-the-air updates, and are commonly programmed with toolchains such as the Arduino core and ESP-IDF.
- IoT
- Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board (PCB) is a board, usually rigid, with etched copper tracks that connect electronic components together without loose wiring. Components are mounted on the board and signals route between them through the copper layout.
- SRAM
- Fast temporary memory used by a processor while a program is running. More SRAM helps with projects that handle larger data buffers, networking, displays, or more complex code.
