A compact direct-drive servo motor integrating a brushless outer-rotor motor, encoder, and servo driver into a single unit. By eliminating the traditional gearbox/reducer, it delivers smooth torque, low noise, and long life in a smaller package.

The built-in driver uses a Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithm with a high-precision sensor for accurate speed, position, and current control. Communication over UART provides real-time motor data including position, speed, current, and fault codes.

Key Features

  • Integrated Design – Motor, encoder, and driver in one compact unit
  • Direct Drive – No reducer/gearbox, fast response with no mechanical delay
  • FOC Control – Field-oriented control for precise operation
  • Low Noise – 47.2 dB idle, 54.5 dB under load
  • UART Communication – Read position, speed, current, and fault codes
  • Hall Position Detection – Built-in sensor for accurate feedback
  • Electric Braking – Active braking support
  • Protection – Over-current, over-temperature, and stall protection

Specifications

  • Working Voltage – 11–22 V DC
  • No-Load Speed – 210 ±15 RPM
  • Rated Torque – 0.25 Nm
  • Stall Torque – 0.85 Nm
  • Interface – UART

Ideal For

  • Robot joints and articulated mechanisms
  • Self-balancing robot drive wheels
  • Small AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) drive wheels
  • Educational robotics platforms

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

AGV
An AGV, or automated guided vehicle, is a mobile robot used to move materials without a human driver. This matters because controllers used in AGVs need reliable communication and industrial I/O for motors, sensors, and safety systems.
encoder
A device attached to a motor or shaft that reports movement, such as rotation steps or position. In a pump system, an encoder can help measure or control how much the motor has turned, which affects how repeatable the watering amount can be.
Field-Oriented Control (FOC)
Field-Oriented Control is a motor-control method that carefully controls the magnetic fields inside a brushless motor for smoother and more precise motion. It matters for projects such as robotics, gimbals, and haptics where quiet operation, low-speed control, or accurate torque control is important.
servo motor
A motor module that moves to a commanded angle rather than simply spinning freely. It matters for robotics and mechanisms because it is useful for steering, arms, gates and other parts that need controlled position.
Stall torque
The maximum twisting force a servo can produce when its output is held still and cannot move. It helps you judge whether the servo is strong enough for a robot joint, steering linkage, or other load.
Torque
A twisting force that causes something to rotate, usually measured in newton-metres or kilogram-centimetres. It matters when choosing motors, servos, gears, and tools because higher torque is needed to lift heavier loads, turn larger wheels, or move mechanisms without stalling.
UART
UART is a simple serial connection that sends data over separate transmit and receive wires, often labelled TX and RX. It matters because this module is designed to replace a wired UART cable with a wireless link while keeping the same serial data format.
