A 2-metre addressable RGB LED strip using WS2812 LEDs on a black flexible PCB. Each of the 120 LEDs is individually controllable via a single data line, supporting 24-bit colour (16.7 million colours) with 256 brightness levels per channel.

The strip is flexible enough to bend around curves and can be cut to length at marked intervals. Adhesive backing on the reverse makes mounting straightforward on most surfaces.

Key Features

  • 24-Bit Colour – 16.7 million colours with 256 brightness levels per channel
  • Flexible and Cuttable – Can be bent to shape and cut at marked intervals
  • Adhesive Backing – Self-adhesive tape for easy mounting
  • Black PCB – Discreet appearance when LEDs are off

Specifications

  • LED Type: WS2812
  • LED Count: 120
  • Input Voltage: 5 V
  • Beam Angle: 120°
  • Strip Width: 10 mm

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
PCB
A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, usually referring to an LED that can mix those three colours. It matters because controlling an RGB LED teaches how separate outputs combine to create different colours.
