A floor mat, not a robot — you'll need a Bee-Bot or Blue-Bot to go with it.

The grid carries 42 images of consonant-vowel-consonant words, the kind of decodable vocabulary Foundation and Year 1 students meet in early phonics. Call out a word and a student programs the robot to drive to it; or park the robot on a square and ask the class to sound out where it landed. Both directions get you reading practice and route planning in the same activity.

Measures 90cm x 120cm, which is a 6 x 8 grid of standard Bee-Bot squares — big enough for several robots to work on it at once, so a small group can each take a word.
