CrowPanel ESP32 Display 2.8-inch SPI module is a powerful HMI touch screen with a 320*240 resolution LCD display. It uses the ESP32-WROOM-32 module as the main control processor, with a dual-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor, integrated WiFi and Bluetooth wireless functions, a main frequency of up to 240MHz, providing powerful performance and versatile applications, suitable for IoT application devices and other scenes.
The module includes a 2.8-inch LCD display and a driver board. The display screen uses resistive touch technology and comes with a resistive touch pen, making the screen usage more flexible. In addition, the board has reserved a TF card slot, multiple peripheral/IO interfaces, USB (Convert TTL) interface, speaker interface, battery interface, etc., providing more expansion possibilities. It supports development environments such as Arduino IDE, Espressif IDF, Lua RTOS, and Micro Python, and is compatible with the LVGL graphics library. This enables developers to not only customize their own UI interfaces but also to create interesting projects quickly and easily, greatly shortening the development cycle.

ESP32
ESP32 is a family of low-cost microcontroller chips and modules from Espressif with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. They support programmable firmware and over-the-air updates, and are commonly programmed with toolchains such as the Arduino core and ESP-IDF.
GPIO
General-purpose input/output pins are microcontroller pins you can set in software to read signals, switch devices on and off, or connect to peripherals. The number of GPIO pins matters because it limits how many buttons, LEDs, sensors, and other parts you can wire directly to the board.
GPS
The US satellite navigation system used by GNSS receivers to calculate position and time. Support for GPS is important because it is widely available and often used together with other constellations for more reliable positioning.
Grove
Grove is a standardised 4-pin plug-in connector system for sensors and modules that avoids soldering and jumper wires, with different cable types carrying I2C, UART, analogue or digital signals. HMI

I2C
I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
IDE
Short for Integrated Development Environment, a program used to write, run and manage code. It matters because some learners prefer a traditional coding workspace instead of a guided notebook-style lesson.
IoT

LCD

SPI
A fast serial communication bus often used for displays, memory cards, and sensors. It matters because SPI devices need specific pins for clock and data, plus a separate chip-select line for each device.
TFT
A thin-film transistor display is a common type of colour LCD used for graphics screens. Knowing a product is for TFTs helps you check that the driver board matches the display’s connector, resolution, backlight, and signalling method.
Type-C
USB Type-C (USB-C) is a small, reversible USB connector used for charging, power, and data transfer on many modern devices. A Type-C port or plug indicates the cable and charger connection needed to power, charge, or communicate with a device.
