This smooth stainless steel fibre sewing thread is conductive, making it handy for wearable electronics, soft circuits and other small-current projects where ordinary wire is too stiff.

Each roll includes 1 metre of thread with a resistance of about 2Ω per metre and a wire diameter of 0.96 mm. It can be sewn into fabric for projects such as touchscreen gloves, anti-static clothing, wearable electronic equipment, anti-static brushes, or driving LEDs and other small electronic components.

The thread offers good thermal conductivity, a high melting point and high-temperature resistance, while remaining washable and reusable. Note that thinner wire offers higher resistance.

Features:

  • Low resistance
  • Stable resistivity
  • High-temperature resistance 650°C
  • Melting point 1350°C
  • Safe to wash
  • Reusable

Specifications:

  • Wire Resistance: 2Ω/m
  • Length: 1m
  • Diameter: 0.96mm

Includes one roll of Conductive Stainless Thread (2Ω), ready for sewing into fabric-based electronics and maker projects.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

anti-static
Anti-static materials help drain away small static charges instead of letting them build up. This can matter for clothing, brushes, or handling electronics where static discharge could be annoying or damaging.
resistivity
Resistivity describes how strongly a material resists the flow of electricity. For conductive thread, stable resistivity helps the electrical behaviour stay predictable along the stitched path.
Thread
A low-power wireless mesh networking standard designed for smart home and IoT devices. It matters because Thread devices can relay messages through each other, helping build reliable networks for sensors and controllers.
