Cherry MX2A Red Linear Mechanical Keyswitch

This Cherry MX2A Red switch is a linear mechanical keyswitch for custom keyboards, replacement keyboards and embedded human-machine interfaces. It is suited to builds where you want a smooth, direct keypress without a tactile bump or audible click.

The MX2A generation refines the classic Cherry MX design with factory-applied lubrication, an optimised spring and improved housing geometry. This helps deliver smoother key travel, reduced spring noise and a typing feel that remains compatible with standard Cherry MX keycaps and PCBs.

The housing includes a built-in recess for a standard 3mm LED, making it easier to add under-key illumination in your own keyboard or control panel design. For prototyping, it can also be paired with a matching switch breakout board for simpler wiring.
