A breadboard adapter for the popular ESP-01 model of the ESP8266 serial-to-Wi-Fi transceiver module. It converts the ESP-01's 2×4 pin header into two breadboard-friendly single-row headers with clearly labelled pin names, making prototyping with the ESP8266 much more convenient.
The ESP-01 module's original pin arrangement does not sit neatly on a breadboard and the pins are unlabelled. This adapter solves both problems, providing easy access to all power and I/O pins. An on-board 10 µF filter capacitor helps stabilise the power supply.
Key Features
- Breadboard-Friendly Layout – Converts ESP-01's 2×4 header to two single-row pin headers
- Labelled Pins – Clear pin names printed on the PCB for quick identification
- 2.54 mm (0.1") Pitch – Standard spacing compatible with solderless breadboards
- On-Board Filter Capacitor – 10 µF capacitor for power supply stabilisation
- 2×4 Female Header – Receives the ESP-01 module directly
Ideal For
- Rapid prototyping with ESP8266 ESP-01 modules
- IoT projects using serial-to-Wi-Fi connectivity
- Breadboard-based development and testing
Package Contents
- 1× Breadboard Adapter for ESP8266 ESP-01
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- Headers
- Rows of metal pins used to plug a module into a breadboard or connect it with jumper wires. Pre-soldered headers make the module easier to use straight away without needing to solder the pins yourself.
- IoT
- Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
- PCB
- A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
