The Br V2 is a breakout board for Alchitry headers, giving you access to all the signal pins through solder-friendly 0.1" holes. It is designed to make wiring, prototyping and adding your own circuitry easier when working with an Alchitry board.
This is the wide version, recommended for most uses with the newer boards because their stack height is only 4mm. The extra width helps reduce worries about solder joints hanging below the board.
Take care around the holes above the USB port, as there is very little clearance underneath. Documentation is available from the supplier, including a schematic plus Standard and Wide STEP 3D models.
Specifications:
- Signal breakout: All signal pins on the Alchitry headers
- Hole spacing: 0.1"
- Stack height: 4mm
- Clearance note: The holes above the USB port have very little clearance underneath.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- Headers
- Rows of connector contacts on a fixed pitch (commonly 2.54 mm) used to link a board to a breadboard, jumper wires, or another board. They come as male pin headers and female socket headers; when a module ships with pre-soldered headers it can be used straight away, whereas bare pads require soldering the pins yourself.
