The Br V2 is a simple breakout board for Alchitry boards, making the signal pins on the Alchitry headers easier to access for prototyping, wiring and soldered projects.
All signal pins are brought out to 0.1" easy-to-solder holes, so you can connect jumper wires, headers or your own circuitry without needing to work directly on the Alchitry board headers.
The newer Alchitry boards have a 4mm stack height, so the wide version is recommended for most uses to reduce concerns about solder joints hanging below the board. The holes above the USB port have very little clearance underneath.
Documentation provided by the supplier includes a schematic, plus STEP 3D models for the standard and wide versions.
Features:
- Breaks out all signal pins on the Alchitry headers.
- Provides 0.1" easy-to-solder holes.
- Wide version recommended for most uses with the newer 4mm stack height boards.
- Supplier documentation includes a schematic.
- Supplier documentation includes a 3D Model (Standard, STEP).
- Supplier documentation includes a 3D Model (Wide, STEP).
Specifications:
- Header breakout: All signal pins on the Alchitry headers
- Hole spacing: 0.1"
- Stack height on new boards: 4mm
- USB port hole clearance: Very little clearance underneath the holes above the USB port
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout board carries a small or fine-pitched component and brings its connections out to standard, breadboard- and header-friendly pins. Describing a part as a breakout means it can be wired into a project without soldering directly to the component's tiny contacts.
- Headers
- Rows of connector contacts on a fixed pitch (commonly 2.54 mm) used to link a board to a breadboard, jumper wires, or another board. They come as male pin headers and female socket headers; when a module ships with pre-soldered headers it can be used straight away, whereas bare pads require soldering the pins yourself.
