The Adafruit QT Py ESP32-S2 with uFL Antenna Port is the extended-range version of the QT Py ESP32-S2. Instead of an on-board antenna, it features a uFL connector so you can attach any 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi antenna for significantly better range — ideal for projects where the board is enclosed in a metal case or positioned far from the router.

Built around the ESP32-S2 — a single-core 240 MHz Tensilica processor with 4 MB flash, 2 MB PSRAM, and native USB — this board can act as a USB keyboard, mouse, MIDI device, or disk drive while connecting to Wi-Fi. Program it with CircuitPython or Arduino, and use the STEMMA QT / Qwiic connector for plug-and-play I2C sensors.

Key Features

  • uFL Antenna Port – Connect any 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi antenna for extended range
  • ESP32-S2 Tensilica Processor – Single-core 240 MHz with 4 MB flash and 2 MB PSRAM
  • Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz – Built-in Wi-Fi for IoT connectivity
  • Native USB – USB keyboard/mouse HID, MIDI, serial console, and disk drive support
  • USB-C Connector – For programming, power, and USB device functions
  • STEMMA QT / Qwiic Connector – Plug-and-play I2C for sensors and accessories
  • RGB NeoPixel LED – With controllable power pin for low-power sleep
  • 13 GPIO Pins – 10× 12-bit ADC, 1× 8-bit DAC, PWM on any pin, 5× capacitive touch
  • Two I2C Ports – One on breakout pads, one on STEMMA QT connector
  • Hardware UART, SPI & I2S – Full peripheral support
  • CircuitPython & Arduino – Full support for both platforms
  • 3.3 V Regulator – AP2112 with 600 mA peak output
  • Battery Input Pads – On the underside with diode protection for up to 6 V
  • Seeed Xiao Compatible – Same size and pinout with castellated pads

Also Consider

Ideal For

  • Wi-Fi projects requiring extended antenna range
  • Enclosures that block the on-board antenna signal
  • IoT sensors in remote or hard-to-reach locations
  • USB HID devices with wireless connectivity
Important: This board does not include an on-board antenna. You must connect a 2.4 GHz uFL antenna (sold separately) for Wi-Fi to function. Use a uFL to RP-SMA adapter for standard Wi-Fi antennas — note that most Wi-Fi antennas use RP-SMA (not SMA).
Note: The ESP32-S2 is single-core and does not have Bluetooth support. There is a known hardware issue in current PCB revisions that causes deep sleep to draw ~6 mA instead of the expected lower current.
