This dual-USB step-down buck converter accepts 8–32V DC input and delivers a regulated 5V output at up to 3A across two USB Type-A ports simultaneously. With over 85% conversion efficiency and built-in reverse-connection and overload protection, it provides a compact and reliable way to power USB devices from a higher-voltage source.

If the current on either output port exceeds 3.5A, the module automatically shuts off to protect connected devices.

Key Features

  • Input Voltage – 8–32V DC
  • Output – 5.1V ±5% at up to 3A (dual USB Type-A ports)
  • Conversion Efficiency – Greater than 85%
  • Overload Protection – Auto shut-off above 3.5A per port
  • Reverse Connection Protection – Prevents damage from incorrect wiring
  • Static Power Consumption – ≤5mA
  • Operating Temperature – −25°C to 65°C
  • Operating Humidity – 0–95% RH

Ideal For

  • Powering USB devices from a 12V or 24V vehicle supply
  • Smart home and IoT power distribution
  • Robotics projects requiring regulated 5V USB power
  • DIY portable power sources

Package Contents

  • 1× 5V 3A Dual USB Step-Down Buck Converter Module

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Buck converter
A power circuit that reduces a higher DC voltage to a lower DC voltage. It is useful when your supply voltage is too high for a module or microcontroller and you want less heat and better efficiency than a simple linear regulator.
DC
DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
IoT
Short for Internet of Things, meaning physical devices that connect to networks or the internet to send data or be controlled remotely. It matters if you want projects such as connected sensors, remote controls or classroom data-logging activities.
