The MB7789 4-20SC-MaxSonar-WRMI is a rugged, weather-resistant ultrasonic distance sensor with self-cleaning capability, designed for outdoor applications in high-moisture or condensation-prone environments. It provides millimetre-resolution distance readings from 500mm to 5000mm using a 4–20mA analogue current output (20mA at minimum range, 4mA at maximum range).
The self-cleaning feature helps reduce the impact of condensation and frost when the sensor runs continuously in closed or humid environments. The sensor is housed in a compact, IP67-rated PVC enclosure compatible with standard 3/4-inch PVC pipe fittings, and uses advanced signal processing for reliable readings in noisy conditions.

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- IP67
- An ingress protection rating meaning the enclosure is dust-tight and can survive temporary immersion in water under specified test conditions. This matters when choosing a sensor for outdoor, wet, or wash-down environments.
