3M Z-Axis Conductive Tape (9703) bonds two conductive surfaces together while allowing current to flow through the thickness of the tape — but not along its length or width. This anisotropic conductivity is achieved by conductive particles embedded in the adhesive approximately every 0.1mm, making it ideal for paper circuits, wearable electronics, and solderless connections.
The adhesive handles the mechanical bonding while the conductive particles carry the current. Recommended for low-current applications under 100 mA.
