This is even better than I'd expected. The case is smaller, and comes with a nice little screw that allows me to ensure it doesn't come open when in use.

The series configuration outputs approximately 3.6–4.5V — a similar range to lithium-ion batteries — making it an ideal non-rechargeable alternative for 3.3V projects that use a JST battery connector.
