A compact 3×AA battery holder with a built-in on/off switch, JST 2-pin connector, and an ergonomic belt clip. The series configuration outputs approximately 3.6–4.5V — a similar range to lithium-ion batteries — making it an ideal non-rechargeable alternative for 3.3V projects that use a JST battery connector.

Uses a genuine JST connector with correct polarity, matching standard LiPo battery connections used on Adafruit and other development boards. The belt clip allows you to wear the battery pack for wearable electronics projects.

Key Features

  • On/Off Switch – Conveniently control power without disconnecting
  • Genuine JST 2-Pin Connector – Correct polarity, smooth insertion and removal without catching
  • Belt Clip – Attach the holder to clothing or straps for wearable projects
  • 3× AA Series Configuration – Compatible voltage range for 3.3V and LiPo-powered projects

Specifications

  • Battery Type – 3× AA (not included)
  • Output (Alkaline) – 4.5V (new) to 3.3V (end of life), ~4.5V nominal
  • Output (NiMH) – 3.7V (charged) to 2.7V (end of life), ~3.6V nominal
  • ConnectorJST PH 2-pin, centre-positive polarity

Ideal For

  • Wearable electronics and portable projects
  • Drop-in replacement for LiPo batteries on JST-equipped boards
  • Circuit Playground, Feather, and other Adafruit boards with JST battery input
  • Projects where rechargeable batteries aren't required

Package Contents

  • 1× 3-Cell AA Battery Holder with Switch, JST Connector, and Belt Clip
Warning: Do not connect this holder to LiPo/Li-Ion charger boards — AA batteries cannot be safely recharged via these chargers.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

JST PH
A small keyed plug-and-socket connector with 2 mm pin spacing, often used for low-power electronics connections. You need the correct JST PH cable, and its current rating limits how much power should be passed through it.
LiPo
A lithium polymer rechargeable battery commonly used in portable electronics projects. It matters because LiPo batteries need correct charging circuitry and care, and this board includes hardware intended for that battery type.
