A 200 mm (8″) swivel dipole antenna with 5 dBi gain and an RP-SMA connector — the industry-standard fitting found on most WiFi routers and wireless modules. The higher gain compared to the 2 dBi version extends range at the cost of a larger form factor. The swivel joint lets you angle the antenna for optimal signal direction.

Key Features

  • 5 dBi Gain – Extended range omni-directional coverage
  • RP-SMA Connector – Standard fitting for WiFi and wireless devices
  • Swivel Joint – Adjustable angle for optimal positioning
  • 50 Ω Impedance – Matched for standard RF circuits
  • 200 mm Length – Larger rubber duck form factor for higher gain

Compatible With

  • 2.4 GHz WiFi (802.11b/g/n)
  • 2.4 GHz XBee modules
  • Bluetooth transceivers
  • Other 2.4–2.5 GHz wireless devices with RP-SMA sockets

Package Contents

  • 1× 2.4 GHz 5 dBi Dipole Swivel Antenna (RP-SMA)

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Impedance
Impedance is the total opposition a component or circuit presents to alternating current, measured in ohms, combining resistance with frequency-dependent reactance. It appears in many contexts, such as matching a speaker's impedance (for example 4 ohm or 8 ohm) to an amplifier or the input and output impedance of signal circuits, and a correct match helps avoid weak signals, distortion or damage.
RF
RF means radio frequency, referring to signals used for wireless communication and other high-frequency electronics. A low-noise, stable power supply is important for RF circuits because power noise can affect signal quality and measurements.
SMA
SMA is a small threaded coaxial (RF) connector widely used to attach antennas and other radio-frequency cables. A device with SMA antenna ports needs antennas or pigtails with matching SMA connectors, or a suitable adapter, to connect to them.
