These 0.1 µF ceramic capacitors are an essential component for any electronics project. Placed close to the VCC pin of your ICs, they filter out power supply noise and voltage spikes that can cause unstable behaviour — a fundamental best practice in circuit design.

With 0.1″ lead spacing, these capacitors fit directly into breadboards and perfboard, making them ideal for prototyping and permanent builds alike. Supplied in a convenient pack of 10.

Key Features

  • 0.1 µF (100 nF) Capacitance – The standard decoupling value for digital ICs
  • Ceramic Dielectric – Low ESR and fast response for effective noise filtering
  • 50V Maximum Voltage – Suitable for common 3.3V, 5V, and 12V circuits
  • 0.1″ Lead Spacing – Fits directly into breadboards and perfboard
  • Marked 104 – Standard capacitor code for 100,000 pF (0.1 µF)

Specifications

  • Capacitance: 0.1 µF (100 nF)
  • Tolerance: −20% / +80%
  • Max Voltage: 50V
  • Type: Ceramic disc
  • Lead Spacing: 0.1″ (2.54 mm)

Ideal For

  • IC power supply decoupling
  • Noise filtering on digital circuits
  • Breadboard and perfboard prototyping
  • General-purpose bypass applications

Package Contents

  • 10× 0.1 µF Ceramic Capacitors
Tip: Due to the wide tolerance (−20% / +80%), these capacitors are best suited for power supply decoupling and bypass applications rather than precision filter designs.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

capacitance
Capacitance is the amount of electrical charge a capacitor can store, usually measured in farads such as uF. Choosing the right capacitance value matters because it affects how well a circuit filters power, handles timing, or stores short bursts of energy.
Tolerance
Tolerance tells you how far the real resistance value may be from the printed value. A 1% resistor is useful when a circuit needs more predictable behaviour than a looser 5% or 10% part.
VCC
VCC is the positive power-supply connection on a chip or module. Connecting it to the correct supply voltage is needed for the part to power on and helps avoid damaging the electronics.
