A USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) cable that converts any PD-capable USB-C power adapter into a 9V DC barrel jack output at up to 5A. The built-in PD sink negotiation chip communicates with your adapter to request 9V output, while an EMARK chip enables full 5A high-current delivery as required by the USB-C specification.
The cable terminates in a 5.5mm outer / 2.5mm inner diameter barrel jack that also fits 2.1mm jacks thanks to a springy tip design. At 1.2 metres long with an included Velcro cable tie, it's a convenient replacement for multiple wall adapters.
Key Features
- PD Sink Negotiation – Built-in chip requests 9V from any USB-C PD source
- Up to 5A Output – EMARK chip enables high-current power delivery
- 5.5 × 2.5mm Barrel Jack – Also compatible with 2.1mm barrel jacks
- 1.2m Cable Length – Practical length for most setups
- Velcro Tie Included – Keeps the cable tidy when stored
Specifications
- Input: USB Type-C (PD source required)
- Output Voltage: 9V DC (via PD negotiation)
- Max Current: 5A
- Barrel Jack: 5.5mm OD × 2.5mm ID (fits 2.1mm)
- Cable Length: 1.2 metres
Ideal For
- Replacing multiple 9V wall adapters with a single USB-C PD charger
- Powering routers, single-board computers, and 9V devices
- Portable setups using USB-C PD power banks
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- DC
- DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
- DC barrel jack
- A round power connector commonly used for low-voltage DC power supplies, often described by its outer and inner diameters such as 5.5 x 2.1 mm. Matching the barrel size and polarity is important so the plug physically fits and powers the device correctly.
- Type-C
- USB Type-C (USB-C) is a small, reversible USB connector used for charging, power, and data transfer on many modern devices. A Type-C port or plug indicates the cable and charger connection needed to power, charge, or communicate with a device.
- USB PD power supply
- A charger or power adaptor that uses USB Power Delivery to negotiate higher voltages and currents over USB-C. It matters because the device and cable must support the required PD power level, otherwise a board, soldering iron, laptop, or other product may charge slowly or not run at all.
- USB Type-C
- USB Type-C is a small, reversible USB connector used for power, data and sometimes video on many modern devices. The connector itself does not guarantee a particular speed or voltage, so check the supported USB version, data rate and whether it carries more than 5V via USB Power Delivery.
- USB-C
- USB-C is a small, reversible USB connector that can carry power, data and, on some devices, video over a single cable. The same connector can range from charging only to high-speed data, so the functions a given port actually supports vary.
