The TSL2561 Luminosity Sensor Breakout is a sophisticated light sensor with a flat response across most of the visible spectrum. Unlike simpler sensors, the TSL2561 measures both infrared and visible light to better approximate the response of the human eye.
As an integrating sensor, the TSL2561 soaks up light for a predetermined amount of time, allowing it to measure both very small and very large amounts of light by adjusting the integration time — similar to changing the shutter speed on a camera.
