The SparkFun AS6212 Digital Temperature Sensor Breakout delivers high-accuracy temperature measurements with excellent low power consumption. Using the AS6212 sensor from ams AG, it achieves ±0.2 °C accuracy across a wide range and consumes just 6 µA in normal operation.
The breakout communicates via I2C with eight selectable addresses and includes a pair of Qwiic connectors for plug-and-play integration. A standard 0.1"-spaced PTH header is also provided for soldered connections.
Key Features
- High Accuracy – ±0.2 °C from −10 °C to 65 °C, ±0.3 °C to −40 °C/85 °C, ±0.5 °C across the full range
- Ultra-Low Power – 6 µA typical consumption, 0.1 µA in standby mode
- I2C Interface – Eight selectable addresses (0x48 default) via solder jumpers
- Alert Output – Configurable high/low temperature thresholds for system monitoring
- Single-Shot Mode – Wake from sleep, take one reading, and return to sleep for battery-powered applications
- Qwiic Compatible – Two Qwiic connectors for daisy-chaining, plus 0.1" PTH header
- Wide Voltage Range – 1.7 V to 3.6 V operating voltage
- Operating Temperature – −10 °C to 125 °C
Ideal For
- Environmental and temperature monitoring systems
- Battery-powered temperature logging
- HVAC and thermal management applications
- Qwiic sensor networks and data acquisition

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- breakout
- A breakout is a small circuit board that makes a tiny or hard-to-solder component easier to connect to with standard pins. It matters because this OLED module can be wired into a microcontroller project without needing to solder directly to the display’s fine contacts.
- I2C
- I2C is a two-wire communication bus used by many sensors and small modules. It matters because several I2C devices can share the same two wires, but each device needs a compatible address and your controller must support I2C.
- PTH
- Plated through-hole means the pin holes are metal-lined so solder connects the pad on both sides of the board. It is useful for connectors and headers that need a strong mechanical and electrical connection.
- Qwiic
- Qwiic is a plug-in connector system for I2C devices that uses small 4-pin cables, so you can connect compatible sensors without soldering. It matters because your controller or adapter also needs Qwiic, or you will need a cable or breakout to wire it up.
