This weatherproof RGB LED flexi-strip features 30 LEDs per metre on a white PCB backing with a silicone weatherproof coating and 3M adhesive on the reverse. The entire strip is controlled as one unit — drive the R, G, and B channels with a microcontroller and three N-channel MOSFETs (or NPN transistors) using PWM for colour mixing.

The strip runs on 9–12 V DC and can be cut every 100 mm (3 LEDs) along the marked cut lines. Solder to the 0.1" copper pads after trimming the weatherproof coating with a hobby knife.

Key Features

  • 30 RGB LEDs per Metre – Uniform light output across the strip
  • Weatherproof Coating – Silicone-coated for indoor or light outdoor use
  • White PCB Background – Clean appearance when the strip is off
  • 3M Adhesive Backing – Sticks to most smooth surfaces
  • Cuttable – Trim every 100 mm (3 LEDs) at marked cut lines
  • PWM Colour Mixing – Control R, G, B channels independently for any colour

Specifications

  • LED Density – 30 LEDs/m
  • Input Voltage – 9–12 V DC
  • Control – 3-channel (R, G, B) — ground each channel via MOSFET/transistor
  • Cut Interval – Every 100 mm (3 LEDs)
  • Solder Pads – 0.1" pitch copper pads
  • Length – 1 metre
Note: These strips are weatherproof for light outdoor use but are not designed for long-term submersion in water (especially chlorinated water) or extended exposure to direct sunlight/UV. Not suitable for pools, lakes, or aquariums. Once the adhesive backing is removed, strips are non-returnable.

Ideal For

  • Decorative accent lighting for bikes, furniture, and displays
  • Costuming and wearable projects
  • Art installations and creative builds

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
microcontroller
A microcontroller is a small computer on a chip that runs your program and controls connected inputs and outputs. For this product, it is the part that reads buttons and sensors, drives the display and speaker, and communicates over Bluetooth.
PCB
A printed circuit board is a rigid board with copper tracks that connect electronic parts without loose wires. For this kit, the PCBs also form the airplane shape, so they are both the circuit base and part of the finished model.
PWM
Pulse Width Modulation is a way for a digital pin to simulate variable output power by switching on and off very quickly. It matters for controlling things like LED brightness, motor speed, or servo-style signals from a microcontroller pin.
RGB
Short for red, green and blue, usually referring to an LED that can mix those three colours. It matters because controlling an RGB LED teaches how separate outputs combine to create different colours.
