This compact Pololu D42V55F8 module is a synchronous buck switching regulator for turning a higher DC input into a stable 8.4 V output. It is suited to projects where efficiency matters, especially when the input voltage is much higher than the required output.

The regulator accepts input voltages from 8.4 V up to 60 V and can deliver a regulated 8.4 V output at up to 5 A. Typical continuous output current depends on input voltage and thermal conditions, with efficient operation compared with a linear regulator for reduced heat and better energy use.

Useful control and monitoring signals are broken out, including enable (EN) for low-power shutdown and power-good (PG) for voltage monitoring or sequencing. The board also includes soft-start and built-in protection features, with 0.1″ grid-compatible connections for straightforward prototyping.
