Picoh is the compact member of the Ohbot family — a ready-assembled robot head you bring to life with code. Where its larger sibling moves a full sculpted face, Picoh pairs an expressive LED eye matrix with a motorised head and mouth and a built-in speaker, so it can look around, pull a face and talk back to the room.
Ways to program it
- The Windows block-programming app, which also connects to AI services such as speech recognition
- Python on Windows, macOS or Raspberry Pi
- Scratch in a browser, including on Chromebooks
Because it ships assembled and includes a USB cable, there is nothing to build and nothing else to buy before the first lesson. A good pick for a classroom that wants the Ohbot experience at a friendlier price, or for a school adding a second robot to an existing set.
Warranty: one year.
Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- LED
- A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
