A medium surface transducer that turns any flat surface — tables, walls, panels — into a speaker. Unlike traditional cone speakers, a voice coil wrapped around a metal rod causes vibration that transfers directly to the surface it's pressed against, producing surprisingly clear sound from the surface itself.

The transducer has a heavy body so it can simply be placed top-down on a surface. It operates at 4 Ω impedance and 3 W, making it compatible with common Class D audio amplifier breakouts. Pre-soldered wires are included for easy connection.

Key Features

  • Surface-Driven Audio – Turns any flat surface into a speaker
  • Pre-Soldered Wires – Ready to connect to an audio amplifier
  • Heavy Body – Stays in place on surfaces without mounting

Specifications

  • Diameter – 28 mm
  • Impedance – 4 Ω
  • Power Rating – 3 W

Ideal For

  • Interactive audio installations
  • Hidden speaker projects
  • Directional sound experiments (e.g. mounted in a cup or tube)
  • Pairing with Class D audio amplifier breakouts

Package Contents

  • 1× Medium surface transducer with pre-soldered wires

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

Impedance
Impedance is the total opposition a component or circuit presents to alternating current, measured in ohms, combining resistance with frequency-dependent reactance. It appears in many contexts, such as matching a speaker's impedance (for example 4 ohm or 8 ohm) to an amplifier or the input and output impedance of signal circuits, and a correct match helps avoid weak signals, distortion or damage.
